Just Another Blokes Blog

So here’s where it begins — my first blog.
I had the great idea earlier of setting this up, thinking it would be a breeze — an hour or two and I’d be sitting back with a coffee, admiring my first post.

Six hours have since passed… but hey, it’s a learning curve (so they say).

By way of introduction, I’m The Bloke.
My parents either had a cruel sense of humour or they somehow knew I’d grow up to be a world-renowned blogger — we’ll soon find out which one it is.

As you can tell, this is my first time writing a blog.
I don’t think I’ve ever used the backspace key as much as I have in the last 30 minutes. I literally cannot type a sentence without some sort of typo or mistake — so if I miss any, I’ll apologise now.

(And no, my spelling of ‘apologise’ is not a mistake. For any Americans reading — that’s how it’s spelled in Europe.)

Which brings me to my first topic — where I’m from.
I won’t go as far as saying where exactly (just yet), but I do live in Europe. There may be certain topics or phrases that help you narrow it down over time but for now we’ll leave it as Europe.

Quick ‘About Me’ and a rundown on the aim of this blog before I wrap up this session:
I’m male, in the age bracket of 35–45, and single.

I currently live at home with my parents — which, until recently, used to feel a bit embarrassing. But after seeing how many of my friends are struggling financially or close to being declared homeless, I count myself lucky.

I recently lost my job — and nobody knows this yet.
I haven’t found the courage to open up to my family about it, but I’ll save that for another day.

This blog will act as my day-to-day diary. I’ll share updates on what I’ve been up to, how the job search is going, and anything else I reckon you might find interesting.

So follow along for insights into the life of a bored, broke bloke.
You never know — you might actually enjoy it!
